I’m so excited to share today with you, my dear fellow Wild Spirits, how Birds can help us achieve a higher perspective when we feel bogged down by negativity.
I’m including an Audio below which you can listen to when you need an uplift.
Connecting with the bird’s perspective expands our mind and can free us to experience our Life in a more expanded uplifted way.
Aren’t birds just so amazing? Watching them soar fills me with so much awe. They are such magical creatures.
The photo above was taken by my dear friend Jan who is an avid bird watcher and a true bird whisperer. Every time I go on a hike with Jan, I’m treated to many many bird sightings. Birds and Jan have a magical connection.
Watching birds infuses me with so much inspiration.
Birds to me symbolize grounded Freedom. They are comfortable on land/water and in the air.
I use the Bird’s view as a magical tool to expand my Life and gain more Freedom. But I realized that I have to do it from a grounded place within my Self.
When I stay connected with my inner Roots, I imagine taking flight and stay fully present in my body while integrating the insights I’m gaining.
Taking flight can also be used as an escape mechanism. When I fly away without staying grounded, I loose my connection with my body and don’t stay present. I loose my Self. I escape.
I used this escape strategy a lot while growing up.
As a child to be able to bear living with a narcissistic father I so often tuned out of my body and escaped by flying away. It worked great in my mind and gave me an escape plan which made me feel “safer” as a child.
Children have a tendency to escape into imaginary worlds especially when the world around them becomes a threatening place.
In my child’s mind the escape worked but my body stayed behind and got bombarded with stress. So even though as a child, in my mind, I was able to escape, my body continued feeling the stress and stored it deep within.
Releasing this deep seated tension later in life was and is vital for my well being. My deep connection with Nature has helped me so much to keep releasing tension, old and new.
So today I’m excited to share with you how it feels to take flight while staying fully grounded, present in our body, and how our body benefits from this tremendously.
I often notice that when I read or hear something that feels negative, my body and mind start to contract, tense up. I feel smaller, limited, weighed down.
That’s when I know that I have to come back to my Self and expand and release the weight from my shoulders. I don’t want a source outside of my Self have power over me and bog me down.
I also use this magical tool when I feel stuck trying to find a solution to get out of my head and expand my view.
Fortunately we have our wild imagination and we can use the wild magical space in our Heart to feel like we become a Bird.
So during the times when I feel contracted and not my Wild Self anymore, I very consciously use the higher perspective of a Bird.
I imagine my inner Tree and feel my deep Roots which keep me grounded in my body. And then I imagine a whole flock of Birds living in my wild Heart.
I imagine that I’m asking the inner Bird which serves me best in that moment to sit on one of the Branches of my inner Tree.
I love to get surprised by the Bird which shows up. I don’t have to be a bird expert to know which bird species serves me in that moment. I can also be a Bird which only exists in my imagination.
When I know and feel which Bird came to me, I imagine that it is sitting on one of my inner Tree Branches and I start to embody the Bird. Through my wild Heart I feel like I’m this Bird.
And then I imagine that I release all the weight off my shoulders when I imagine taking flight and spreading my inner wings.
I start to fly and soar and enjoy the lightness, freedom and expansion in my body and mind.
And then after a while I imagine that I’m returning to my inner Tree and land on a Branch. I feel refreshed with an expanded perspective and wildened again returning back to sitting on my chair.
The benefits of the higher perspective stay with me. I can feel it in my body and mind, how I’m more relaxed and more hopeful and optimistic.
And I have observed, that solutions I was looking for, come to me much easier without me having to think about them. They fly to me out of the blue.
The Bird’s view is a magical energetic tool I use when I feel bogged down, small, limited, confused or stuck. I can rise up and soar into freedom and expansion while staying connected to Mother Earth just like the birds do.

This simple meditation was uplifting. I felt a lightness and expansion in my chest. It was clear that a meadowlark was visiting me with the message that negativity has no place in my life. The light trill of the meadowlark cleared out anything that didn't serve me.
